Web Search

Use any search engine

There are two options to retrieve more information on an aircraft, without search enabled, you can click any aircraft and the callsign and ICAO code will be copied to the pasteboard so you can launch a manual search. Optionally enable the built-in mini browser for a quick search on the hex/icao code with your preferred search website.

The search URL for the mini-browser is user configurable so you can point to your own source or search engine, the icao code and callsign will replace the <IC> and <FL> placeholders, some examples:

  • https://opensky-network.org/aircraft-profile?icao24=<IC>
  • https://whatisflying.com/en/database/aircraft/<IC>
  • https://lite.qwant.com/?t=images&theme=1&q=flight%20<IC>%20callsign%20<FL>
  • etc.
You could even point to your own webserver where you run a copy of the adsbdb.com resource (see below).

adsbdb.com

The free public API

Enable the option adsbdb.com to search for more detailed data such as aircraft type, departure and destination, owner, and more. The API also provides a photo of the aircraft when available. This is a public aircraft, airline, and flightroute API available on GitHub.

Plot the Route

Departure to Destination

With the adsbdb.com option enabled it opens up the possibility (when the info is available) to plot the route between the departure and destination airport on a world map. Click on the zoom icon on the bottom right corner of the map window.
